Internet Speed Test
Measure your download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter in about 20 seconds.
Ready when you are.
Test server: nearest Cloudflare data center
How this speed test works
The test runs in three steps. Ping is the round-trip time of a tiny request, measured several times; jitter is how much those times vary (low jitter matters for video calls and gaming). Download fetches random data over several parallel connections for about 8 seconds, growing the request size as it goes, and upload sends random data back the same way. Speeds are shown in megabits per second (Mbps).
What do the results mean?
The test measures your connection to the nearest Cloudflare edge data center (shown under the results), not to any particular website, so results can differ from other speed tests that use different servers. Roughly: 5 Mbps is enough for HD video on one device, 25 Mbps for 4K streaming, and 100 Mbps or more comfortably serves a busy household. Ping under 30 ms feels instant; above 100 ms you may notice lag.
Tips for an accurate result
- Pause downloads, streaming and cloud backups on your network while testing.
- Use a cable or stand close to your Wi-Fi router to see what your plan really delivers.
- Run the test two or three times — your last results are kept on this device for comparison.
- A full test transfers up to a few hundred megabytes on fast connections; be careful on metered mobile data.
