How the Pomodoro Technique works
The Pomodoro Technique breaks work into focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes long, separated by short breaks. Pick one task, press Start and work on nothing else until the timer rings. Then take a 5-minute break. After every four focus sessions, take a longer 15–30 minute break to recharge.
Using this timer
The timer moves through focus and break phases automatically and counts your completed sessions; the dots show how many sessions remain until the next long break. Use Skip to jump to the next phase and Reset to restart the current one. The remaining time is also shown in the browser tab title, so you can keep an eye on it while working in another tab. Press Space to start or pause.
Accurate in the background
Browsers slow down timers in background tabs. This timer calculates the remaining time from the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate even when the tab is hidden. Enable desktop notifications to be alerted when a phase ends while you are in another window. Your settings and counters are saved only in this browser.
