Global Petrol Prices
Compare national average petrol and diesel prices, collected every hour from official open data.
How these fuel prices are collected
Every price on this page comes from open data published by a government body, or by fuel retailers under a government scheme. Once an hour, minitool downloads the current pump prices from each source and calculates a national average per litre in the local currency. Station prices older than 14 days are left out, and so are prices below 60% or above 160% of the median, which catches typos such as pence entered as pounds. The average uses every remaining station, and the country detail shows how many stations went into each figure.
Countries with regional data, such as France and Portugal, also get an average per region or district. Each country lists the fuel grade behind every column, because petrol means SP95-E10 in France, E10 unleaded in the United Kingdom and RON95 in Malaysia. All prices include fuel duty and VAT and match the price shown at the pump. The trend chart keeps one point per hour for the last 30 days.
Live, Hourly, Daily and Official
- Live: stations report each price change to a national register, and minitool reads the register every hour.
- Hourly: retailers publish their own price feeds, and minitool checks every feed each hour. Coverage is limited to the retailers with a public feed.
- Daily: the source publishes one snapshot per day. Italy publishes the prices of 08:00 each morning.
- Official: the government sets the price, usually once a week, and every station charges the same amount.
The "updated" time is the newest price change reported by the source, not the moment minitool fetched the data. A daily or official price therefore shows an older time even when the collection ran a few minutes ago.
Why some countries are missing
The table uses only open data available for free and without registration, an API key or a contract. Many countries publish fuel prices as weekly reports, PDF files or behind a sign-up, and those sources are left out. A country joins the table once a suitable open source exists.
Currency conversion
Prices in US dollars and euros use daily mid-market exchange rates. Sorting a price column compares every country in US dollars, so the order stays the same in each currency view. One US gallon equals 3.785 litres.
Rates by ExchangeRate-API. Fuel prices from the official source named in each country detail, under the open data licence of that source.
