Coin Flip
Flip a virtual coin for heads or tails. Toss one coin or up to 100 at once.
Tally
A fair coin toss online
Each flip draws a random value from the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), so heads and tails
both have a 50% chance on every toss. The result is decided before the animation starts, and the spin has no
influence on the outcome. The tally and streaks are saved in the browser, and Reset clears them.
What to expect from streaks
Long runs show up more often than most people guess. In 100 fair tosses, a streak of six or more of the same side appears about four times out of five, and the split rarely lands at exactly 50/50. The percentages move closer to 50% as the number of flips grows. Statisticians call this pattern the law of large numbers, and a few batches of 100 flips show the effect clearly.
When to flip a coin
A coin flip settles a tie, picks who goes first in a game or decides between two equal options. Teachers use batches of flips to demonstrate probability, streaks and the gap between expected and observed results.
