How to use this online calculator
Type an expression with the on-screen keys or your keyboard and press = or Enter. The result preview updates as you type. Use Backspace to delete the last character and Esc to clear. Supported keys: digits, + - * / ^ % ( ) ! and ..
Scientific mode
Switch to Scientific for trigonometry (sin, cos, tan and their inverses), logarithms
(log is base 10, ln is the natural log), square roots, powers (xʸ), factorials, π and e. Choose
DEG or RAD to set whether angles are in degrees or radians. Missing
closing parentheses are added automatically, and you can write implied multiplication such as
2π or 3(4+1).
Order of operations and percentages
Expressions follow the usual precedence: parentheses, then powers (evaluated right to left, so
2^3^2 = 2^9), then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. A minus sign in front
of a power applies after the power, so −2² = −4. The % key divides the number before it by
100, so 50×20% gives 10.
Everything is calculated in your browser using double-precision numbers; results are rounded to 12 significant digits to hide tiny floating-point errors such as 0.1 + 0.2.
